Abruzzo Earthquake Relief Fundraiser Events

        Thank you to everyone who has already contributed to the Abruzzi Relief Fund, 100% of all donations will be going to the families of this disaster.  All foods, services and labor is being donated by individuals and businesses.   Everyday we have been receiving phone calls from families willing and wanting to help.  For those who wish to contribute to the victims of the earthquake, we ask that you direct your efforts to the following events.  We look forward to seeing you soon, and on behalf of everyone from Abruzzo, we thank you all for your generosity.

1.  Wednesday April 29, 2009  (6pm-8pm) 
Pasta Dinner:  Minimum donation $25 Adults or $10 Children under 12, pay at door at the Italian American Community Center, 150 Frank DiMino Way, in Gates

        ·          100% of your donation will go to the families of this disaster
·          Pasta dinner, local breads, wine & soft drinks
·          Video presentation from the disaster
·          You will also receive a free photo card gift with pictures from the affected towns
·          Seating limited to 400 persons, no advance ticket sales, please pay upon arrival

Establishing the Abruzzo Disaster Relief Fund

In an effort to raise much needed money to benefit the victims of today’s tragic earthquake in central Italy, Mario Daniele, Honorary Vice Consul of Italy, has established the Abruzzo Disaster Relief Fund.  Today’s report of over 50,000 residents of the Abruzzo region left homeless and over 15,000 structures tagged as unsafe to inhabit, has motivated this effort.

“I am urging everyone who is able, especially those Italian-American and Italian-Canadian citizens, to support this effort.  100% of every dollar raised will be given directly to families most in need.  The recipients will be selected based on level of need and by local emergency responders in the area” says Mario Daniele.
